Tiger Brands maintains Level 2 B-BBEE status

Tiger Brands maintains Level 2 B-BBEE status, continues to focus on improving lives through opportunity

Johannesburg. 20 January 2023. Tiger Brands was recently certified as a Level 2 B-BBEE contributor.

Tiger Brands first achieved Level 2 contributor status in the 2021 review period following year-on-year improvements.

The achievement is attributed to a deliberate cross-functional drive focusing on empowerment initiatives that include skills development for unemployed individuals, management control at Board and Executive Director level and significant investment in Enterprises and Supplier Development.

“Our focused commitment to the transformation of the business and our supply chain has led to consistent improvements over recent years in areas that have made a meaningful impact on the lives of individuals, many of whom struggle to access economic opportunities,” says Mary-Jane Morifi, Chief Corporate Affairs and Sustainability Officer, Tiger Brands.

“As Africa’s largest listed food manufacturer, our commitment to B-BBEE goes beyond compliance. We see it as a means of building sustainable livelihoods throughout our supply chain, offering an enabling environment for those with limited resources to access economic opportunities in a way that generates value for our country,” says Morifi.

Tiger Brands will maximise its efforts in these critical areas in the year ahead so that more people have the opportunity to create better lives for themselves and are able to grow along with the business.
