Tiger Brands/DAFF MoU to develop smallholder farmers bears fruit

In 2015, Tiger Brands and the Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries signed a landmark agreement to nurture and support smallholder farmers of specific agricultural produce, where Tiger Brands provides guaranteed offtake agreements for the crop. In the 2017 financial year alone, Tiger Brands was able to procure 23 000 tons of fresh produce sourced from black emerging smallholder farmers.
